Barking, chewing, digging and climbing are signs of a stressed Laika. They need plenty of exercise and room, and they prefer to have a job. West Siberian Laikas are smart dogs who can sense trouble. They are protective of their owners and will use their voice to let them know when someone is nearing the home. They are wary of strangers but will be more open to them once they’re clearly welcomed by you.

West Siberian Laikas have a striking, thick double coat that only needs to be bathed occasionally. They are seasonal shedders, so be sure to brush them every few days to remove dead hairs. This will reduce the amount of hair left behind on the floor.
